The Xilinx Zynq SOC is a unique new tool to solve optimization of current algorithm. Having the FPGA matrix and ARM processors on the same chip allows to greatly increase bandwidth and lower latency between the processor and the FPGA matrix. Any algorithm that has an intricate pattern of parallel and serial processing could be optimized using a Zynq processor. The most likely outcome will be increased speed and lower power consumption compared to similar processing of a PC or any other device for that matter. The parallel processing will effectively by done on the FPGA matrix and the serial processing on the processor allowing an efficient distribution of the workload.
